Alexis Lamb (JD UTexas ’04), Partner and Head of Operations, is uniquely positioned to advise candidates on the nuances between a Hong Kong and US-based BigLaw practice, as she is one of the only legal recruiters in the industry who has experienced both US BigLaw and Asia BigLaw from an associate’s perspective.

She started her career as an M&A associate in the NYC office of O’Melveny & Myers, then worked in Hong Kong (for a total of 5+ years) as a US Capital Markets associate in Linklaters’ Hong Kong office – placed by Evan Jowers himself – and as an Asia-focused legal recruiter on Evan’s team.

Along with recruiting, Alexis plays a vital role in managing, developing and implementing the Company’s business strategies and other initiatives. Prior to joining Jowers Vargas, Alexis served as Director of Talent at Bliss Lawyers, a US-based alternative legal model, and as a senior recruiter for two New York-based recruiting agencies.

Throughout her career, Alexis has placed and obtained offers for attorneys at BigLaw and high-level in-house roles in a variety of domestic and international markets, including but not limited to Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, London, New York, New Jersey, northern and southern California, and even Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia!
